This is a unique placement that will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in media literacy in a meaningful and impactful way. You will inspire a curious audience through teaching and facilitating creative and exciting media projects.
Your goal for your time in Nepal is to support the students to produce a tangible piece of media. This could be a short video, photography display, advertisement, interviews, etc. You could even run a mini film festival to showcase the work of the children to the local community.
The positive effects of this unique and meaningful program will be immediately evident during your stay in Nepal, however, through the piece of media created while you are here, you will also leave a memory that will not be forgotten!
On arrival at Kathmandu’s busy international airport you will be met by a member of our local team and transferred to your accommodation. After a welcome meal and orientation, you will have time to settle in and acclimatise.
As a participant on this media program, you will be working in and around the Kavre district, located on the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley.
Your aim will be to give an invaluable creative media experience to the students of the local schools by helping them to create a diverse range of memorable pieces. These should allow the recipients of all ages and abilities to learn new skills in filmmaking, photography and other genres of media.
In order to make this program as engaging and exciting as possible, you will have the opportunity to teach in a variety of ways including in the classroom, out in the field, one on one with students, and group presentations or workshops.
During your free time you can create your own independent work in a surrounding that will stimulate your creativity with its natural beauty and vibrant local culture.
On day 21 you will be transferred to the aiport in plenty of time for your connecting flight home. Alternatively you can continue on our amazing extension!

See the natural beauty of Nepal by taking part in this 5 day trek (2 travel days) in the highest mountain range in the world – The Himalayas. The climax to your trek is Poon Hill where you will experience a 360-degree vista of the giant Annapurna Mountain range
After an early morning wake up, a guide will pick up you and transfer you to the tourist bus station at 6.30am. Departing at 7am you will drive for approximately six hours with breaks through the beautiful Nepalese countryside to reach the Pokhara lakeside.
Upon reaching the enchanting city of Pokhara, which offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others, we will check in to the hotel. Pokhara has numerous lakes, known as ‘Taal’ in Nepali which offer fishing, boating and swimming. You can stroll around the Lakeside city and explore Devi’sWaterfalls and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave in the evening.
Drive 1.30hrs to Nayapul by bus and start trekking on foot. Follow for half an hour Modikhola, cross the river in Birethati, then follow the Bhurung Khola valley and pass three settlements Ram Ghari, Sudame and Hille. Just a short walk beyond is Tikhedunga (1575m).
The steepest climb so far up to picturesque Ulleri (2073m), a Magar village. This will take approx. 2 hrs. Enter lush oak forest and cross numerous small streams. Ii’s a great place for bird watching. The trek continues up to Banthati (2307m), Nayathati (2680m) then you will reach Ghorepani (2875m), meaning ‘horse water”.
The day begins with an early morning for sunrise walk to Poon-Hill (1hour).
Poon-Hill is the one of the best panoramic view points in Nepal and it is truly breathtaking. We can see the Dhauligiri range to the Manaslu range including the famous Mountain peak Machhapurche “Fishtail”. After Breakfast we will proceed to climb 2hrs to reach Deurali (3097m). We will pass a water fall within a rhododendron forest before reaching Benthati (2664m). After a ½ hour descent an then a 45 minute climb we will reach Tadapani (2680m).
The trek to Ghandruk a shorter trek that follows the rhododendrons forest. Within 3 hours walking, you will be Ghanduk, the Gurung village. After lunch, we will visit the Museum, the Monastery, and the ACAP head office. Take time exploring the village, view and culture. You will even see the Mother’s Group dance program after dinner.
Sunrise view from village will start the day followed by a breakfast, trek to down Saulibazar. Follow Modi Khola to Nayapool and finish in Birethati where we spend the last day. After a ½ hour walk to Nayapul, you will be transferred to Pokhara. Here you can explore the lake side for local shopping or visit Fewa Lake.
After a 6am wake up call, we will travel to Kathmandu by tourist bus. After a six hour drive you will have time on arrival in Kathmandu for some last minute shopping.
Today you will be transferred to the airport in plenty of time for your flight home.
