PROGRAM OVERVIEW

What you'll be doing

During this program, you will spend two weeks immersed in the local culture in and around Arusha, working in one of our partner schools to deliver educational workshops on health-related topics such as; first aid, reproductive health, hygiene, clean water & sanitation, nutrition and habits for a healthy lifestyle. The aim of this program is to help improve overall community health!

Weekly structure

Upon arrival, you will spend the first weekend participating in induction and orientation sessions to prepare you for your project. Your project days will be Monday-Friday with the middle weekend free for you to travel and explore. We recommend heading into Arusha city to explore the vibrant culture.

Extend your trip and take on the Kilimanjaro trek!

After your Challenge, you can join our optional extension trip and take on the Kilimanjaro trek. You’ll be going off the beaten tourist track and up the alternative Machame route, full of wildly beautiful scenery and great access to the remaining glaciers. This is a tough 6-day climb that you will need to ensure you train for in the months before to ensure that you can make it to the rooftop of Africa at 5,895m above sea level!
